1. ___ Thai Coriander
Thai Coriander plant, Eryngium foetidum, is also known as Perennial Coriander, Mexican Corriander, Ngo Gai and Pak Chee Farang. It is a very popular culinary herb. It originates from Central America – the Caribbean islands, Puerto Rico and Mexico and is cultivated throughout Southeast Asia and Latin America. The aromatic leaves used as a spice and flavouring. The root and leaves are used as a Caribbean folk remedy for epilepsy, fevers and high blood pressure. Iit prefers well drained soils in a protected, sunny position. It's smell is very nice and similar to coriander. The leaves of perennial coriander can be used for some cooking unlike regular coriander in stir-fries, soups, salads, curries and salsa. The root can use to flavour vegetables. This variety of coriander dries well, retaining good color and flavour. A root poultice can be used as a tissue regenerator. In India the root is used to soothe stomach pains.
